It's kind of amazing how life puts you on different paths.  I only dreamed of being an educator all of my life as I taught the children in the neighborhood and sang songs to help my siblings learn to spell their name.  I only thought education was my claim to "fame."  I've been a kindergarten teacher for 13 of my 23 years of teaching. Yet, I've always had an artistic side, a side that I always tap into. I see things in different perspective and for this reason I've always had a camera in hand.  I've always appreciated art and details.

​In 2012, I decided to take a year long class in photography. I signed up because I wanted to take better pictures. That's all!  By the end of the year long class, I was being asked to take pictures at events and other functions. I accepted - being up for the challenge. Since then, I've been to many conferences and workshops to hone in my photography skills. I've photographed a bit of it all -  from weddings, to birthdays, to pets. By far, my favorite subjects to photograph are newborns and children. I love children and since my life already centers around them this was a healthy transition.
